Preview: April 3-7Auction: April 4-8 Sotheby's Hong Kong Spring Sales 2009 will be held at Hall 3, the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from April 4-8, 2009. This sales series will mark the inauguration of wine auctions at Sotheby's Hong Kong, in addition to the existing sales of Modern and Contemporary Chinese and Southeast Asian Art, Chinese classical paintings and works of art, jewellery and watches. An exceptional selection of highlights will be showcased during travelling exhibitions in Asia and New York in March, followed by a public exhibition in Hong Kong from April 3-7, 2009. In order to support SCMP Homes for Hope, Sotheby's will be donating part of the proceeds from the sale of coffee and tea from this Spring Sales to SCMP Homes for Hope to help earthquake victims in Sichuan. Sotheby's Asia Chief Executive Kevin Ching Sau-hong said: "A roof overhead is something badly needed by Sichuan victims now. We feel honoured to do our share in this project." Sotheby's will also play an important role in one of the SCMP Homes for Hope's big fundraising events, an auction dinner to be held on 12 May, the one-year anniversary of the Sichuan earthquake. Sotheby's will hold the hammer for the event. For any inquiries on the above charity programme, please contact Sotheby's Hong Kong Press Office at 2524-8121. |
